Due to the AOC's order, the village name could not be added to the cuvée name and was named Amzelle (black tawny bird). Domaine Marktempe is located in the south-west facing village of Zellenberg, about 7 km from Colmar, in the heart of southern Alsace. In early summer, the soil of Marc's fields emits an indescribably deep earthy scent. Weeds are growing vigorously, and the roots of the vines are filled with earthworm holes less than 1 cm in diameter. Yes, his field is biodynamic. With a total area of 8ha, he has been working on Biologic since 1993 and Biodynamic since 1996. He does not use any chemical fertilizers or pesticides, and does not limit the yield by pruning buds or pruning in the summer. It does nothing but help the vine grow to its full potential.
